My journey starts back in the nineties as a young Knitwear designer, fresh out of college. I started up my own hand knit business and sold to Liberty in London where I could count Burt Reynolds as one of my clients! I sold hand knits and had a team of 100 women working from home. I started selling designs in Italy and “Les Copains”, a company situated in Bologna offered me a job for three months... ten years later I was still there.

The sun became a significant symbol for me , having met my husband on the “autostrada del sole” and this has been re-occuring throughout the years in many forms.

At this point I had no desire to return to England and stayed permanently in Italy, working as a knitwear designer and then a scarf designer and creating a home there.

As my children grew up and learned more about my creative past in the fashion industry they urged me to try selling my hand knits again and hence the birth of “my mamma’s knits”.
